Every crowdfunding engagement runs on the same three-act structure: the work before the page goes live, the 30 days that decide the raise, and the year of DTC growth that follows.
Positioning, audience and the Shopify pre-launch page. The work that makes a 30-day Kickstarter hit funding goal in the first 48 hours.
Paid, PR, creator, affiliate and email landing at once, measured hour-by-hour from one war-room against the funding goal.
The campaign close is the start of the brand. Late pledges, Shopify DTC scale, retail expansion, and the audience that funds the second product.

How We Launch
Most agencies stop at the campaign. We don't. Our battle-tested four-phase pipeline, refined across 300+ launches, starts on Shopify, runs through Kickstarter or Indiegogo, then brings your brand back to Shopify to build a real DTC business.
Deep-dive into your product, market, and competition. We validate assumptions, define positioning, and map out the full Shopify-to-crowdfunding-to-Shopify launch blueprint.
We build your pre-launch storefront on Shopify first, collecting emails, running ads, producing video content, and validating demand so you hit the ground running on launch day.
Execute a meticulously planned launch on Kickstarter or Indiegogo: coordinated PR, influencer activations, paid media, and community management to maximize your raise.
After the campaign, we transition your brand back to Shopify for continued pre-orders, InDemand optimization, and long-term DTC growth. This is where one-time campaigns become real businesses.

FAQ
The 15 questions founders ask before they hire a crowdfunding agency. Honest answers, including when not to hire one.
A crowdfunding agency is a specialist marketing partner that runs a full crowdfunding launch end-to-end: pre-launch audience building, landing pages, paid advertising, PR, video, community management, and post-campaign DTC growth. The best crowdfunding agencies treat the campaign as one phase inside a longer brand build, not as a standalone fundraising stunt. Blazon Agency is a Kickstarter Expert and Indiegogo Partner with $120M+ raised across 300+ campaigns in 15+ countries.
Crowdfunding agency fees typically start at a $40K minimum agency fee for a full launch program and scale up to $100K+ for premium campaigns with PR, video, paid media and post-launch DTC. Some agencies offer lower-tier packages from $10–$15K, but at that price point you are usually getting a PDF deck and a template video from a contractor rather than a launched campaign. Most successful crowdfunding campaigns invest 15–25% of their target raise in marketing.
Reputable crowdfunding agencies do not guarantee funding outcomes. Anyone who does is selling you a fairy tale. What we do guarantee is that we will only take on campaigns we believe can hit their goal, and we will move the goal (or refuse the engagement) if the pre-campaign audience cannot be built to support it. Blazon's funding-goal hit rate is 100%, because we reject roughly 80% of inbound briefs that do not meet that bar.
Kickstarter is the right platform for most hardware, design and consumer-tech launches: stronger built-in audience, higher trust, no flexible-funding option (so backers know you only collect if you hit goal). Indiegogo is better for products that have already validated on Kickstarter and want a longer-running In-Demand phase, for products that need flexible funding, or for products targeting an audience that is already on Indiegogo (certain wellness, home and lifestyle categories).
A crowdfunding agency understands the very specific economics of a 30-day campaign: front-loaded conversion windows, platform ranking algorithms, backer psychology, ad-account cost-per-pledge benchmarks, fulfillment risk after the campaign closes, and the regulatory differences between rewards and equity crowdfunding. A general marketing agency may be excellent at brand or DTC, but rarely has the campaign-day playbook to make the 30-day window count.
Ideally 8–12 weeks before your campaign goes live. That window is needed to build an email list of 5,000–10,000 qualified leads, develop the campaign page, shoot the campaign video, run pre-launch ads to validate creative and CAC, seed press coverage, and warm a backer community. Campaigns that skip pre-launch marketing raise roughly 4x less on average.
A realistic crowdfunding goal is whatever your pre-campaign audience can fund in the first 48 hours plus what your paid acquisition and PR can drive across the remaining 28 days. We tailor the goal to that pre-campaign audience size. If the audience cannot be built to support a given goal, we either move the goal down or decline the engagement. That is why our funding-goal hit rate is 100%: the goal is set against reality, not aspiration.
Plan to invest 15–25% of your target raise in marketing. A $200K raise typically needs $30–50K in combined agency fee, paid media, PR and video. A $1M+ raise typically needs $150–250K. Going below 15% almost always means under-funded pre-launch audience building, which is the single biggest predictor of campaign failure.
During pre-launch (8–12 weeks out), the agency builds the lead-gen funnel, drives paid traffic to a landing page, captures emails, runs creative tests, drafts and pitches press, develops the campaign video, designs the Kickstarter page, and nurtures the email list with a launch sequence. On launch day and through the 30-day campaign, the agency runs daily ad management, sends targeted email to the warm list, manages press follow-ups, replies to backer comments, sets up affiliate and influencer activations, and monitors performance hourly. Post-campaign, the agency handles backer comms, late-pledge funnels, and the transition to Shopify DTC.
Yes, founders absolutely can self-launch successfully. It just requires a founder who has time to learn ad buying, video production, PR pitching, copywriting, community management, and campaign-day operations all at once, while also running the business. If your product is small (sub-$50K raise) or your team has existing in-house marketing depth, self-launching is the right call. If you are aiming for $250K+ and want predictable execution, an agency typically pays for itself in raised funds plus the time it frees up for the founders.
The visible campaign window on Kickstarter or Indiegogo is 30 days (occasionally 45 or 60), but the full engagement runs roughly four to six months: 8–12 weeks pre-launch, 30 days live, then 8–12 weeks post-campaign for late pledges, backer fulfillment communications, and the transition to a Shopify DTC store.
The campaign close is the start of the brand, not the end. After the campaign ends, the agency typically migrates the funnel to a Shopify store, opens a late-pledge / pre-order window for backers who missed the campaign, runs paid newsletters and affiliate to drive ongoing revenue, manages backer comms through fulfillment, and uses the campaign audience to seed launch number two. The post-campaign DTC phase is often where the bigger lifetime revenue lives.
The biggest cause of crowdfunding failure is under-investment in pre-launch audience building. Founders assume the platform itself will deliver backers; in reality, Kickstarter and Indiegogo reward campaigns that already arrive with a warm email list and momentum. Other common failure modes: setting a goal too high relative to the pre-launch list, launching without a campaign video, underfunding paid media in the first 48 hours, or running PR too late.
Hardware and consumer-tech crowdfunding has the most agency depth on the market because Kickstarter's Design & Tech category is where most of the $1M+ campaigns happen. Lifestyle and food crowdfunding tends to perform better on Indiegogo and needs influencer-led marketing rather than tech-press-led marketing. SaaS rarely belongs on Kickstarter or Indiegogo at all. A Product Hunt launch or a pre-launch waitlist is usually the right vehicle. Blazon classifies every inbound brief into the right service rather than forcing everyone into crowdfunding.
A well-run campaign typically returns 3–10x on agency-attributable spend during the live window, plus a much larger long-tail of Shopify DTC revenue from the audience captured during pre-launch. Hardware campaigns on $40K+ agency engagements commonly clear $250K–$1M+ in pledges. The bigger ROI conversation is the brand audience: a properly run crowdfunding launch builds 10–50K email subscribers and a press footprint that compounds for years.
